We work with schools throughout Austria to raise LGBTIQ flags during Pride Month. Queer visibility is the best way to teach all students uncompromising self-acceptance.
FLAGincluded is a project launched by young activists at HOSI Wien. As the organizer of the Rainbow Parade, HOSI Wien is keen to bring the rainbow to where it is most needed: to schools.
We are aware that there is little room in school budgets for such an undertaking.
That is why we would like to make the entire package available free of charge.
The project is financed by donations from private individuals, associations, and other organizations.

HOSI Wien was founded in 1979 and is the largest political advocacy group for LGBTIQ people in Austria. We vehemently advocate for our concerns to ministers, members of parliament, and other politicians, as well as to political parties, authorities, the media, and the public.
To this end, we organize political events such as the Rainbow Parade and IDAHOBIT, draw up lists of demands, give interviews, prepare information for social media, but above all, we maintain personal contacts with politicians and journalists in order to be able to contribute our perspectives.
We offer support in coming out and in cases of discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity by taking initial action ourselves and then referring cases to specialized partner organizations.

In the style of an old lesbian bar, the world's largest private collection on lesbian bar history can be seen here in the form of a room installation.
We took lesbian bars from the 1920s to the 1950s as our model. There is wood paneling, a wooden bar counter in the center of the room, and furniture and bar stools in the style of the 1920s. In addition, there is an exhibition of archival materials.
The project was developed as part of the SHIFT funding program, which runs until June 2026. There is the possibility of an extension, which we are of course striving for.

The NAMES Project has set itself the task of producing memorial quilts for people who have died as a result of AIDS. Partners, relatives, and friends use these quilts to show their love and pride and to preserve the memory of their deceased loved ones in a meaningful way. By being together, talking, crying, but also laughing, the loss of loved ones can be overcome together.
In the name of love ...
... we have promised to remember. Here at the Names Project Vienna, we have the opportunity to talk about our pain. We can transform grief into creative energy and remember the deceased with pride. Taken together, the quilts represent a wonderful testimony of love.
Let us prove that we take our promise seriously, because “only those who are forgotten are dead.”

Venib (Verein Nicht Binär, Non-Binary Association) sees itself as a place of exchange and representation of interests for non-binary people. More specifically, for those who identify with the non-binary gender spectrum and/or position themselves outside of a clear, determinative two-gender model.
We are committed to a life of self-determination and social respect!
In order to achieve our goals of demarginalization and destigmatization, we see the association as a political instrument, a place for knowledge work and reflection, and a space for mutual support.
We demand the comprehensive enforcement of the law and bureaucratic implementation of the human right to a life that corresponds to one's own gender identity.
We resist power-hungry outsider views on our bodies and lives that determines who and what we are and renders non-binary biographies invisible in society.

Queer Base offers regular counseling sessions for anyone with questions about asylum and LGBTIQ issues.
We offer legal advice, social and coming out counseling, networking with the community, support in medical and psychological matters, and referrals to competent agencies. We also offer training and continuing education for organizations working in the field of asylum.
We know how sensitive the issue of translation is when it comes to questions of sexual orientation and gender identity, which is why we work mainly with translators who are themselves LGBTIQ. Together with Diakonie Lares and Tralalobe, we organize housing for LGBTIQ people who are in the asylum process and refer recognized asylum seekers to competent agencies for help with finding housing.

We organize interactive workshops at educational institutions (both in and outside of schools). In these workshops, we work together on topics related to diverse gender and sexual realities.
In our workshops, we aim to create a learning space that goes beyond the usual framework. The goal is to facilitate an open, inclusive exchange on the topics of body, gender identity, and sexual orientation. Our methods are focused on interaction and dialogue. We want to enable all participants to take part in our workshops and therefore place great importance on using simple language and being sensitive to possible disabilities.
We use methods from anti-discrimination education and sex education, such as autobiographical storytelling. We share stories from our own lives and address personal questions.
We visit school classes and extracurricular youth groups and tailor our program to the respective wishes after consultation. We most often work with young people between the ages of ten and eighteen. If necessary, the workshop can also be held in English.
New people are also recruited to participate in the project on an ongoing basis (see website)!

The (cross-state) project is funded by the Federal Ministry of Social Affairs, Health, Care, and Consumer Protection in cooperation with the LGBTIQA+ organizations HOSI Wien, HOSI Salzburg, VIMÖ – Association of Intersex People Austria, Verein Amazone together with Verein Go West from Vorarlberg and RosaLila PantherInnen in Styria, building on our many years of experience in queer education.

This means: we organize DIY workshop days, solidarity flea markets, film nights, and more.

Vienna Pride takes place annually between the end of May and mid-June. It kicks off with the Pride Conference at Vienna's City Hall. After that, the Prater becomes a queer hotspot with the Community Fest and the Pride Run Vienna: community associations, LGBTIQ artists, and partners invite you to experience LGBTIQ culture and support LGBTIQ causes.
The highlight takes place at the end of the two-week program: over 300,000 people are expected to attend the Rainbow Parade on the Ringstrasse to demonstrate together for acceptance, respect, and equality. The Pride Village on Rathausplatz invites visitors to celebrate with a colorful stage program and a wide range of culinary offerings.
These highlights will be accompanied by numerous other events throughout the city during Vienna Pride (see website!).
You can get involved by participating in the parade day or by volunteering before, during, or after the event. Financial support for the cause can be provided by booking a starting position, taking on a symbolic tram sponsorship, or through other forms of sponsorship. On the day of the march and at other Vienna Pride events, solidarity bracelets will be distributed in exchange for a donation of your choice — the proceeds will go to the organizer of Vienna Pride (HOSI Wien).

In any case, the Vienna Rainbow Ball is more colorful than other balls, creating an inclusive environment where people of all sexual orientations and gender identities can celebrate together.

All Drag is valid and needs to start and grow somewhere.
Drag Lab is an open stage for queer and Drag-performers. Founded in Summer 2021 by Metamorkid and Dopa Mania, the main idea was to create a safe space for people to express themselves. During the Covid lockdowns, a lot of queer spaces hadn´t been accessible and there weren´t any real opportunities for newcomers to start performing.
DragLab started to give an open stage to performers of any kind. A stage for queens/kings/monsters and entertainers that want to explore and improve their artistry in a positive, community-driven environment.
The Show is now run by Metamorkid and Nani Mag. Viech and is currently in it’s eighth season.

We look forward to welcoming new participants every year and are always happy to answer any questions!

Qwien is Austria's first queer cultural center. We are an extensive archive, a library, a research center, and, most recently, an exhibition and event venue for changing exhibitions, lectures, and events. For more than fifteen years, we have been collecting, researching, and communicating queer history and culture.
We are here to discover, collect, communicate, and preserve the past and present of queer life in Austria. Our goal is to challenge normative history and inscribe queer history into it.

The magazine is aimed at men of all ages, backgrounds, gender and sexual identities, and worldviews. Men's health is a multifaceted issue, which is why we rotate recurring topics such as toxic masculinity, mental health, and preventive medical checkups, focusing on specific areas in each issue. It is particularly important to us to raise awareness of the fragility of the body and soul and to encourage our readers to be honest about their needs and suffering.

Heavy Lezzers was born from the feeling of being isolated — too queer for the metal scene, too metal for the queer scene.
What started as a way to connect has grown into a collective movement of loud queers, nerds, outsiders, dreamers, and allies.
A call to all misfits, moshers & metal queers. Join the cult.
We believe in building a space together, united by a beat that drives us all:
